Northline Energy has approved a three-well appraisal programme on its Karoo Basin licence, with drilling expected to start in the first quarter.

The wells will test longer laterals and a revised completion design. Results will feed a development decision later in the year.

What the programme covers

  • Three horizontal wells from a single pad
  • Extended-reach laterals of up to 3,500 metres
  • A 90-day production test on each well

Management said capital for the programme is within existing budgets.
